Road Daze Pt. 2- Portland Calls

The arrival.

It was my first time in Portland let alone Oregon. I had 2 1/2 days to experience as much as I could and we didn't waste any time. From neighborhood to neighborhood, we bounced around to indulge in the Portland culture. However, as promised, the weather was definitely a dreary one. I imagined groups of hipsters chasing slivers of sunlight every other block, but it seemed that us California girls were the only ones taking full effect to the grey hue. Don't worry, we were cured right away by an incredible brunch at Sweedeedee followed by prosciutto & melon ice cream from Salt & Straw.

Brunch & ice cream was only the beginning of our trip. After the donuts & coffee, we had chances to stroll around Portland's pocket neighborhoods which were also accompanied by pockets of charming mobile business "pods". I first saw mobile "pods" while in Austin, but the ones in Portland had a more lived-in vibe which gave the mobile shops & restaurants great character.

I wish I had more time to explore more of Portland & the rest of Oregon. Luckily, my best friend just moved there so I'll definitely be seeing Oregon soon :)
