March Madness

With the big roadtrip slowly approaching, every pop-up feels like a benchmark to this grand adventure on the horizon. Sometimes, the problem with this is that when I'm trekking at full speed with one specific goal (enough funds to put towards the roadtrip) in mind, the simple moments and celebrations I have quickly pass me by without deserved recognition. March was madness, however, these past couple of events humbly reminded me of why I started Blossom in the first place.

In the beginning of March, Rewrite magazine threw a backyard pop-up sale that was interrupted by heavy rain, but still went on strong. If you haven't read any of the powerful stories written by my dear friends Elysabeth & Mark Ratto, you need to stop reading here and head to their website. The backyard sale was thrown to celebrate and build their following in their hometown before moving to the East Coast to continue building on the magazine.

Thanks to Instagram, I had the opportunity to collaborate with not only wonderful shops in my Long Beach community, but some amazing, talented women from Colorado as well. It's funny how social media can easily be mistreated as it can be pleasantly rewarding. When I first meet a person via online, there is always a questionable feeling that I can't shake off until we actually meet in person. We are all aware of how easy it is for someone to portray themselves a certain way online versus who they are in "real life".. well I have yet to encounter a person who is not as equally amazing online as they are in person. Marsha of Strangedirt and Aly of Vaux Vintage were a real treat to host & collaborate with these past few weekends. Being able to meet and collaborate with like-minded folks is why Blossom has grown to what it is today. It begins with an idea, progresses with passion, and grows with support. I am so blessed by the encounters I have with people like Marsha and Aly who traveled hundreds of miles to be a part of Blossom's adventures. I am so inspired and rejuvenated by the passion these ladies have for their work. This month was a busy one, but being busy is a great thing when you're having so much fun.

A huge thank you to Rewrite Magazine, Orn Hansen, Lord Windsor Roasters who hosted us and expressed nothing but love & support.

Keep Blooming,
J.

  1. I like old stuff and most importantly Shakespeare and his stuff. He was real hero of English literature with true inspirational messages.
